The first World Cup day in Ulricehamn has come to its end. Today, over 30,000 spectators have visited the arena and cheered on the athletes – fantastic!

The first spectators arrived already at 07:00 to gain the best viewing positions before the competitions began. After a slightly cold morning, a radiant sun rose, creating perfect conditions for both the athletes and the public.

The folk festival was exactly as we had hoped for; the public masses created an amazing atmosphere, both in the stands and beside the forest tracks. Never before have so many spectators visited Lassalyckan and uniquely even, many more than any other World Cup event this season, which many of the skiers positively remarked upon.

Nothing but praise has been said by the athletes, who highlighted the encouraging public response and the fine race conditions. A clear example of this successful event was spoken by Martin Johnsrud Sundby:

"As it was today, I could easily perform all of the World Cup races in Ulricehamn!”

Tomorrow is a new day with relay races. We look forward to a further folk festival and a world cup of world’s class!
